Phlegraean Fields. Dashboard on the initial phase of the vulnerability plan

The dashboard presents data and information collected during the external inspection of ordinary private buildings located in the intervention area of the Phlegraean Fields, which includes part of the municipalities of Bacoli, Pozzuoli, and Napoli (specifically Bagnoli district and parts of the municipalities of Soccavo, Pianura, and Posillipo). Ordinary buildings refer to those used for residential and service purposes, excluding specialized structures (such as religious, industrial, and military) and monumental buildings.

The inspection was carried out by teams of trained and qualified experts who compiled various forms. This effort was coordinated by the Civil Protection Department in collaboration with the Campania Region and supported by the three municipalities involved. This activity was part of the initial phase of the Extraordinary Plan for Vulnerability Assessment, which was introduced by Article 2 of Decree-Law 140/2023.

The dashboard includes a total of 9,078 buildings. Of these, 56.4% were examined between March 25 and June 7, 2024, in accordance with the timeline established by the Extraordinary Plan. The remaining 43.6% were analyzed before Decree-Law 140/2023 took effect, conducted by the PLINIVS Study Centre - LUPT Centre of Federico II University, in agreement with the Civil Protection Department. For clarity, the data from previous surveys in the dashboard have all been assigned the date of March 24, 2024, which is the day prior to the start of the Extraordinary Plan.

The data displayed on the dashboard consists of interactive charts highlighting the key features of the private building heritage being analyzed. Users can access this information in two ways: in aggregate form for the entire intervention area or by selecting individual municipalities from the map.

By clicking on a Municipality in the map or on a specific data point in one chart, all charts will align with the selection made by the user. You can also zoom in on the charts by clicking on the button in each chart's upper right corner.

The results of the first “areal” assessment of private building vulnerability are provided in this map.
